... but I missed the energy of the desert. That sense of freedom. That burst of color that arrived like a celebration, even when nothing else was blooming.

So I brought a little of that spirit with me - a terra cotta pot planted with California poppies. They didn’t bloom right away, but eventually, they opened—bright and golden and alive.

And somehow, they brought the desert with them. I sketched them through the winter, letting their warmth spill out onto the page, reminding me that color and life were still possible, even in the hardest seasons.
