You're tired.
Not just physically tired. The kind of tired that comes from carrying too much for too long. The news is heavy, the world feels uncertain, and most of us are just walking around with a low hum of anxiety we've learned to call normal.
And somehow we're still supposed to keep going. Keep showing up. Keep moving forward on a path that keeps shifting under our feet.
I get it. I really do.
I was on a trail with three small kids and absolutely zero cooperation from any of them. The toddler was tired and wanted carried, one kid was dragging his feet and falling behind, and the other was running ahead upset we were too slow. And all of them asking "are we there yet?"
No one was happy and I think I was the most frustrated of all of us.
So I changed the trail.
We stopped hiking to get somewhere and started hiking just to walk. Looping trails with no summit, no finish line, no destination at all. Just the path itself.
And suddenly everything changed. We stopped to look at bugs. We smelled the wildflowers. We listened to the wind moving through the trees. We noticed things we would have walked right past if we'd still been chasing a destination.
Those slow, unhurried, in-between moments turned out to be the whole point. My kids are older now and enjoy the destinations but some of our favorite trails are still the looping ones that are all about slowing down and enjoy the journey.
That's what I painted. The journey. Not the destination.

Rebecca (Beks) Harris grew up in her parent's hobby and craft store. She had access to a wide range of supplies which led to a lifetime of creativity.
Harris is a US based artist who has been featured in multiple publications including books, magazines and blogs. She has had her work on display in multiple shows and has collectors around the world.
Harris is a graduate of the Milan Art Mastery Program, has a BFA in Interior Design and a MS in Green Design and Sustainability.
Harris has a diverse portfolio in Interior Design, Graphic Design and Illustration. She previously worked as an interior designer and residential sustainability consultant before pursing art full time.
